With this section you will successfully convert a Graflex 3-Cell Flashgun into Luke's ANH lightsaber.
Graflex conversion is very simple if you acquire the piece previously described in the last page. Again, there are a couple of ways to go about it. The first way is to buy a conversion at one of the following locations:

EDC Studios - Kits and Parts

John's Spot on the Web

OR, you can try to aquire the parts yourself! As we go along, I will explain more on the different parts.

First, you must separate the flashgun into three separate parts. Do this by standing the flashgun up straight and lifting the clamp lever. This will loosen the clamp and the bottom section which you will then be able to twist and pull down, releasing the bottom section. There should be a small screw holding the clamp to the clamp to the top section. You can use any all purpose cleaner, and metal polish to make the flashgun look even better if you choose. Afterwards, remove the spring in the bottom of the bottom section, needle-nose pliers should do the trick.

Before you reassemble the flashgun, you must attach the D-ring assembly. To do this like they did in the movie, use a pop rivet gun. They are fairly inexpensive, and may be purchased at your local hardware store along with your D-ring. the D-ring is fasened to the bottom of the lightsaber with two rivets through a thin peice of sheet metal or a D-ring retainer with two holes drilled through after it has been bent over the D-ring.

Next is attaching the grips and bubble display. The original grips in the movie were windshield wiper blades from a British Mini, some say off an old MG, but the chances of coming across those intact are slim and you may want resort to something reasonable at an auto parts store, if you don't purchase something from one of the above links. The bubble display is believed to be off of a Sinclair Calculator's 7-digit LED bubble display. Again, it would be easier to just get the kit or acquire a Texas Instruments calculator (Model# TI-1200). Once you reattach the pieces of the flashgun, you can slip the bubbles into the top part of the clamp. Closing the clamp lever will secure it.
