U.S.S. Valorous Series - Episode 5
Captain’s Log, Stardate: 59702.8

The Tactical Unit continues to enjoy a few drinks at Quark’s.  As Quark has put a temporary suspension on the acceptance of Federation credits (recent hostile activities in the area have delayed his credit to latinum conversion), the team has been granted 20 slips of Gold Pressed Latinum each to “play”.  The team is also informed that they may transfer Federation credits for Slips of Gold Pressed Latinum.

[Ensign’s Latha and Thalorn have been promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade.]

Conversion rate:

100 Federation Credits = 1 slip
100 slips        =       1 strip
20 strips        =       1 bar
10 bars         =       1 brick

[Lt. V’Gorneth heads straight for the Klingon restaurant for some authentic Klingon fare and MASS quantities of Blood Wine. Lt. Kyros heads to sick bay to complete Lt. Taban bio-regeneration of Lt. Latha’s forearm.  Lt. Latha engages in one of the holosuite combat programs.  Ensign Suvant begins his quest for acquiring his own ship.]

Smuggler resources discovered:
Ferengi - Quark (weapons, jewels, security access modules)
Bolian - Aldo (engineering equipment, ship systems)

[After Speaking with Quark, and having his pockets lightened by both Quark and Aldo, Ensign Suvant Acquires a small, second hand, Orion Harmony Class vessel.  The ship is equip with life support systems, Impulse drive, and thrusters.  After discussions with the team, Lt. Latha contacts the Bajoran Government to secure the compound as a place of repair and storage for the new vessel.  They have agreed to fully register the vessel with the Government.  The team makes their decent and lands at the compound site.

After landing, the crew proceeds to take inventory of the compound to determine what may be used towards the new ship or sold to buy parts for the ship.  Miscellaneous stores of power relays, power couplings, and hull plating are discovered initially.  Weapon stores in the compound reveal a cache of Romulan Disruptor rifles and pistols.  The crew collects these items and stores them aboard Suvant’s ship.

During the load, the crew receives a signal being routed through the subspace transceiver in their communicators with the help of their tricorder’s power boost.  The communication comes from the USS Valorous and Captain Sherman.  Captain Sherman expresses a brief displeasure of the lack of communication from the team of where they were heading while off duty.  He decides to postpone the full lecture in light of the new developments occurring on Deep Space 9’s front door step.  The USS Valorous rendezvouses with the ship to pick up the team.  The team programs the ship to auto-pilot back to DS9.]

The Tactical Unit proceeds to the briefing room of the USS Valorous and learns that DS9 has ordered All non-military personnel to remain in their quarters; all officers are ordered to report to battle stations.

Sensors detect 4 vessels in the area – 2 Romulan Warbirds, 1 Romulan Talon class scout, 1 Klingon Battlecruiser.  Monitored communications pick up a transmission from the lead Warbird:  “We are the Shinzonian Syndicate.  You are commanded to transfer all Romulan prisoners aboard your station to us or we will open fire.”  The Station response:  “This is General Kira of the Bajoran/Federation station Deep Space 9.  We are not detaining any Romulan citizens aboard this station.  Your threats are an act of war!  Stand down immediately!”  As the USS Valorous arrives at the scene, Captain Jack Sherman looks to the crew for suggestions.

The argument between the would-be-assailants and DS9 continues as the U.S.S. Valorous decides the best course of action.  As the Romulan scout cloaks, the Valorous estimates it trajectory based on it’s previous course and speed, fires a tachyon burst from the main deflector, and reveals it’s position.  With spit-second timing, the transporter chief transports half of the team to the scout vessel.  The first wave eliminates lower decks and engine room resistance.  The second wave beams to the bridge area where they defeat the bridge crew and automated disruptor mounts in the four corners of the bridge.  After the ship is secured, the team monitors the continuing battle between the station and other ships.  It is discovered that there are simultaneous warp core breaches in progress belonging to the the opposing ships.  The Tactical Unit and all remaining Federation vessels retreat at high warp to avoid the shockwave.

Upon dissipation of the shockwave, it is discovered that DS9 has taken heavy damage to two pylons, and Ensign Suvant’s vessel has been destroyed.

END TRANSMISSION.
