U.S.S. Valorous Series - Episode 7 Captain’s Log, Stardate: 59895.3
It is 1300 Hours and the team has reached Deep Space 9 after dodging almost certain annihilation at the hands of the Shinzonian Syndicate. Before retreating, we were able to gather enough intelligence to reveal that this mission is slightly above our heads. Starfleet Command has sent Captain Shelby to discuss our options for pursuing this threat. We are to report to the conference room at 1800 Hours for debriefing.
Each of the team members pursue leisurely activities before heading to their personal quarters to get ready for the briefing. Upon completion, the team meets with Captain Sherman orders the Tactical Unit to nominate one of their own for future leadership of the team. After a brief discussion, the team nominates Valentine Kyros who is then promoted from Lieutenant Junior Grade, to a full Lieutenant. Captain Sherman removes the black pip from his collar and replaces it with another solid.
At 1800, the team gathers in the conference room along with multiple high ranking officials and Starfleet personnel, Captain Shelby takes the podium. Looking down at her notes, the Captain takes a deep breath, a Pause, and begins her Speech.
“Be seated. A few hours ago we received word that the Thunderchild (Akira Class), The Venture (Galaxy Class), and the Lexington (Nebula Class) were overwhelmed by enemy forces. We do not know if prisoners were taken, but we do have confirmation of multiple warp core explosions in the area of their final stand. We realize now, based on the Valorous’s intel, that this problem may be too big for us to handle without seeking outside assistance. In light of the developing situation with the Shinzonian Syndicate, the tension between the Romulan and Klingon governments has temporarily subsided. We have plans to approach both governments, along with the Cardassian and Bajoran governments to aid against this growing threat.
[puts hands on podium and leans forward slightly] I won’t lie to you people, even with the support of the other governments, the chances of fighting off a force this size is slim. Most of the other governments are experiencing a shortage in high powered tactical vessels after all of the recent wars we have all fought. Regardless, we WILL press forward. Questions.”
The room remains silent for a moment before the Tactical Unit begins probing for more information. At one moment, Lt. Suvant speaks out of turn and is quickly silenced by a sharp look from his new commanding officer, Lt. Kyros. Captain Shelby then asks Lt. Kyros if he has a problem keeping his officers in Line. Lt. Kyros responds with a quick, “No Sir, it won’t happen again.”
After the debriefing, a private meeting with Captain Shelby is held with the Tactical Unit. She announces that in order to mount a full scale attack, the Tactical Unit will need to infiltrate the enemy complex and plant plasma charges in key areas on the main complex and secondary complexes throughout the nebula. The team members exhibiting Human or Bajoran features will report to Sick Bay to be surgically altered for this mission.
V’Gorneth has his skin tone adjusted and his ears modified. Lt. Suvant and Lt. Kyros also undergo the procedure to be surgically altered to look like Klingons.
Our orders are to capture one of the enemy vessels, and gain entry to the facilities in the nebula to plant the plasma charges. The USS Valorous will take the team as far as the capture point and then return to the rendezvous point of the fleet. Once the sabotage is complete, the team must leave the nebula and signal the fleet on the provided secure frequency.
It is discovered after careful probing of Garak and Quark that a Klingon Bird of Prey will be docking with deep Space 9 shortly to purchase supplies from Aldo. When the crew compliment of twelve arrive and decide to stop for a drink in Quark’s Bar, the team moves into action. Some act in a surveillance capacity, while others join the Klingons for a drink. Drinking of Klingon Blood wine continues for hours until everyone is completely inebriated. One of the Klingons stagger over to Aldo to complete the discreet transaction and rejoins the party. A few moments later, the Klingon Crew leaves to depart DS9. A quick hypospray brings the team members out of their complete intoxication to a state in which they can think. They decide to beam the crew members of the Bird Of Prey directly to the brig minus their uniforms and weapons once they reach the airlock. Aldo is then apprehended and arrested.
The crew dons the borrowed uniforms and Begins departure from DS9 to attempt to infiltrate the Nebula and the complexes.
